Deinosuchus and Monoclonius: Pwnelage

Lol I didn't actually use "pwn" in the official exhibit . . . though the thought continues to tempt me. This illustration was for the Brigham Young University Museum of Paleontology. Deinosuchus, a 40-foot alligator from the Cretaceous period, could have gone toe to toe with just about any dinosaur of the time. However, he preferred instead to hide underwater, wait for an unsuspecting dinosaur with a shower cap and a bottle of Johnson and Johnson to waddle in for a bath, and then at the commencement of the third and climactic verse of "Rubber Ducky" explode out of the murk and froth to devour the poor soul as if it had hatched from an egg with a Little Debbie Label.

Deinosuchus, while originally discovered over 150 years ago ([link]) has recently undergone some re-thinking re- reconstruction. Paleontologists in Texas have found new skull specimens which have a very different shape than the on scientists interpereted in the past. This reconstruction in based on a photo of the said skull, kindly provided by the said folk
